Princess Diana
Most people have heard of Princess Diana. She was married to Prince Charles from 1981–1999.She died in a tragic car accident. It has been 18 years since her death on Monday and many people are still devastated. Princess Diana did a lot of charity work to help different countries. Her family consists of Charles Spencer, John Spencer, Jane fellowes, Baroness Fellowes and Lady Sarah Mccorquodale. Her wedding to Prince Charles was on July 29 1981. 600,000 people lined the streets to catch a glimpse of Diana on her way to the ceremony. Diana wore a dress valued at £9000, which is $21636.98 in New Zealand. Diana became Princess of Wales when she married Prince Charles on 29 July 1981 at St Paul's Cathedral.
Princess Diana has 2 children. Prince William and Prince Harry. She has 2 grandchildren Prince George and Princess Charlotte. From 1989 she was president of London's Great Ormond Street Hospital for children and did a lot of work for other charities. After the accident the media gave the subject a lot of attention. Diana was born on the 1 July 1961 in. Her relationship with Charles ended in divorce on 28 August 1996. Well you may wonder how Princess Diana Died. She was in a car accident with Dodi Fayed in the Pont de l'Alma underpass in Paris.
Diana and Dodi were not wearing a seatbelt said by British and French police. The police also discovered that their chauffeur Henri Paul was under influence by alcohol. There was also a idea that paparazzi were following the couple. It is claimed that Dodi bought Diana an engagement ring just a few hours before the crash. There a is a rumor that princess Diana and Dodi were killed on purpose to stop her marriage to Dodi but the most shocking part was who apparently said it can you guess???? Well it was the Duke of Edinburgh otherwise known as Prince Phillip.
The Queen didn’t even speak publicly or fly the flag at half-mast over Buckingham Palace after the death. She was called “The people’s Princess” because she was the first royal in a very long time who had truly connected with the people she was engaged in countless charity actions and was also Praised by the people for her compassion and more. Her funeral took place on the 6 September 1997 at 9.08 a.m in London. The official ceremony was at Westminster abbey.
Two billion people traced this event worldwide making this one of the most watched events in history. More than one billion people stood on the streets to see her coffin and family walk past. During the service Elton john sang “Candle in the wind” which has been rewritten as a tribute to Diana. The original plan was for Diana to get buried in the Spencer vault at a church nearby Great Brington. But Lord Spencer was concerned about public safety and security.
He decided for Diana to be buried somewhere that her family could visit .The island is in an ornamental lake known as The Round Oval within Althorp Park's gardens. A path with thirty-six oak trees, marking each year of her life, leads to the Oval. Four black swans swim in the lake. In the water there are water lilies, which in addition to white roses as those were Diana's favorite flowers. On the southern verge of the Round Oval sits the Summerhouse, previously in the gardens of Admiralty House, London, and now adapted to serve as a memorial to Diana. To me Princess Diana seems like a lovely person like Kate the duchess of Cambridge married to her son William. She was willing to help the world. She was amazing because not many people wished to but she did.
Rest in peace Diana
